2022 parks & rec master plan

The Farragut Parks & Rec Department is in the midst of creating a 10-year Parks & Rec Master Plan, and the public is invited to participate.

The last parks master plan was created in 2012. New master plans should be created every ten years, and ideally, updated every five years,

An online survey that was available from late August to mid-September asked participants what facilities and programs/initiatives they would like to have in the future. Over 900 responded for their households. Short in-person surveys are also being conducted at local events.

The Parks and Athletics Council will use the info from the surveys to put together a list of the most-requested projects, large and small, and public reviews will allow members of the community to vote for their favorites. To participate, plan to drop by the Farragut Community Center between 10-11 a.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, and Wednesday, Dec. 8.

A draft of the master plan will be discussed at a Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting in January and voted on in February.
